The last time The Strokes played London was June 2010, it was the legendary Dingwalls show but the band haven’t played a huge show in the capital since the Wireless Festival on June 21st 2006.
Well that is about to change, The Strokes are playing Hyde Park on Thursday 18 June 2015 as part of the Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park series of concerts.
I’m personally absolutely ecstatic by the news, it has been far too long since I had the opportunity to see the band but also playing a venue like Hyde Park means there is a higher chance of actually getting tickets. As much as I would love to see The Strokes in a small venue, the huge gap since their last gig means getting tickets would be impossible.
Supporting the band will be Beck, Future Islands, Temples, Public Service Broadcasting, The Wytches, Hinds, Gengahr, Yak, Kieran Leonard plus more to be announced.
