As speculated previously Fast Animals is indeed a slighter faster version of album track Slow Animals.  Personally I prefer Slow Animals which is one of my favourite tracks of Comedown Machine.

Fast Animals is the b-side to the 7″ version of All The Time, released in the UK on April 1st – it is also a bonus track on the Japanese version of Comedown Machine. I don’t usually post officially released material but as I imagine this one will be hard to get hold of it MP3 form I will this time.

Last week when Zane Lowe premiered All The Time it didn’t come with an interview but after Zane spoke to Nikolai on Twitter that has now changed.

Nikolai didn’t say too much though confirmed that unlike Angles the band recorded Comedown Machine together. With Angles Julian recorded his parts separately.

“I feel good about the atmosphere in the band”

Nikolai would like to tour but no plans for it yet, I am increasingly wondering if they will do what The Beatles did in their later years and become an album only band. Would be a real shame if they did because they are great live. Of course that is just me worrying as a fan!

To put a positive spin on it – if they were to tour now it would once again mostly be festival dates because from mid-June to late August most bands don’t do normal tours it is always the festival dates. Maybe they are putting off touring until the Fall and will do a proper tour then in normal venues.

The time is here and after One Way Trigger confused the hell out of a lot of people The Strokes first official single from Comedown Machine is a more traditional Strokes song, a rousing number that demands to be sung very loudly and by many people.

All The Time will be available as an official download on February 19th.

It what may well be the greatest surprise The Strokes have ever given us from out of nowhere the band posted a new song on their website!

And it wasn’t the song talked about last week All The Time but instead 4 minutes 1 second of a brilliant new track called One Way Trigger.

Still recovering from the shock of this really, it wasn’t what I expected at all. Julian’s high vocals somewhat stunned me as did the dance quality to it. But you know what this song is good, real good. As in I don’t want to stop listening to it, I actually want to get the loudest speakers in the world and blast One Way Trigger from it so that the whole world could dance along.

You may have read about the closure of Megaupload last week, it is having a massive impact on other filesharing sites including the one I use to host the majority of the media on here, Mediafire.

I’ve always loved sharing all the concerts and TV performances with other Strokes fans and Mediafire has been the easiest way to do that. I have never uploaded anything by The Strokes that could be purchased legally, it’s always been about bootlegs that you can’t get otherwise.

I have something like 30GB of Strokes media currently uploaded to Mediafire, if it was to be closed down currently there is no other hosting service I could upload it all to and even if there was it would take a long time. I could possibly uploaded the audio to my own site but the videos would be too much.

I don’t want to panic anyone but seriously the way everything is going right now Mediafire closing or having restrictions is sadly a likely scenario.

So if there is a concert you always meant to download but have yet then I suggest doing that sooner rather than later.

Some links are probably broken but I don’t have the time right now to upload them again.

I honestly hope that Mediafire doesn’t close, it would be a great loss to us all. I will keep you updated with any developments.
