Albert Hammond, Jr set to release an EP this September

Albert Hammond, JrThings continue to be quiet in the land of The Strokes despite the release of Comedown Machine earlier this year but guys are still keeping busy.

Recently Fab has been touring with long time friend Devendra Banhart. Whilst Julian was seen supporting his stepfather Sam Adoquei’s new short film – you should all read the fan report of that event from last week over at The Strokes News it is all kinds of lovely.

Now Albert has revealed he is planning to release an EP (hopefully by September) on the Casablancas owned Cult Records!  Albert’s last solo record was 2008’s ¿Cómo Te Llama? and he has briefly spoken before on Twitter about wanting to do another record. Doing an EP and on Julian’s label is probably a good compromise and it is really nice to see the two bandmates (and one time room mates) come together again.

Albert revealed this news on the Har Mar Superstar podcast Nocturnal Emotions which you should all take a listen to. On Twitter last night Albert suggested to Har Mar they do another podcast in the future with Julian. Now that would be a whole lot of fun.  If you haven’t already then do check out the Julian edition of the podcast from April, its nice to listen to Julian speak about all manner of random things.
