Ok so I was completely unaware of this but Nikolai is doing a solo project, called Nickel Eye! (lolz best name ever), the album will be released in the fall and its called The Time of the Assassins.

Some more info
Nikolai plays all the instruments (on Dying Star at least) except the drums and guitar
Nick Zinner (of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs) plays guitar on Dying Star
The songs were played on Mark Ronson's radio show, and here are the rips (has some of Mark talking over it)

Missing the vocals of Mr Casablancas? Well check this song out, My Drive Thru is a collaboration with Julian Casablancas, Santogold, and Pharrell Williams for the 100th anniversary of Converse. My opinion? Damn well catchy, great song for the summer.

Hi guys I've been wanting to do this for a while and at last I've done it, created a new gallery for the site. Which makes it easier for you find things and easier for me to upload any future pictures. Please let me know your thoughts



Also created a new header for the site, because I'm feeling nostalgic for the early days of The Strokes.

15/01/2008 :: "Happy New Year!" []

So I'm back at last and I aim to be a bit better at keeping this site up to date in 2008.

I am aware that lots of media doesn't work, especially the $2 Bill MTV Show which lots of people have requested, well due to losing all my files I have to re-rip and cut and upload the videos from the discs which is why its taking a bit of time to do. Rest assured they will be back over the next few weeks

The Strokes still don't seem to be up to anything, could be another quiet year.

22/09/2007 :: "at last!" []

Again I'm sorry with the update issues. Real life just sucks time away. I didn't realise just how many of the media links were dead, I would say 70% of them are working again, transferring what I can from the crappy upload sites to the more reliable Mediafire, its a continual process.

Its been a slow slow year for the band, a fourth record will happen just seems unlikely its going to happen soon as Albert has started on a second solo album. Still I'm holding onto some hope that maybe the end of 2008 there will be at least a new single but who really knows. Brief news on what the others have been up to

Julian has been seen hanging out in Denmark quite a bit, I guess visiting family over there and also catching some of Albert's shows.

Nikolai made a film with a former college friend Danny Velez in 2003 and it has started to be shown at various firm festivals with a hopeful DVD release in the near future (A Kind Of Dream's myspace page)

Fab has been drumming for Har Mar Superstar and also hanging around with Sia (there are even rumours that they may record a gospel album together!)

Nick has been pretty quiet but does appear on Devendra Banhart's new record on the song Shabop Shalom, according to Devendra "What I find exciting about his contribution, is that it requires actual physical human techniques -- meditation techniques -- to hear. It's almost like playing a record backwards, but there's no equipment necessary. Basically I heard it but couldn't really make out any of Nick.

I know i've been terrible with updates but holidays, work and loss of internet over the past 2 months have made it difficult. Expect a better update at the weekend. For now a small graphic for Julian's birthday, 29 on 23rd August
